Meet Elvira:

Elvira is a partner at AVL Abogados, where she develops her legal practice and applies her extensive knowledge in the Tax area. She has over 18 years of experience as a legal consultant in the corporate field, providing accurate advice to national and international clients across a wide range of business sectors. She combines her tax specialization with a corporate and labor perspective to deliver effective and comprehensive solutions. Her approach has supported the structuring of new investments, achieving significant tax optimizations and reducing potential contingencies.

She has provided her services as a partner of Moore Ecuador (Moore Stephens Taxfirm S.A.), and as legal advisor at Moore Stephens Profile, Grijalva & Grijalva Abogados and BDO Ecuador, firms in which she has had the opportunity to provide tax, corporate, labor and immigration advice to local and multinational companies. Additionally, she has participated as a speaker in seminars aimed at these companies.

Furthermore, she has acted as Academic Coordinator for the Ecuadorian Institute of Tax Law, where she assisted in organizing the XXII Latin American Tax Law Conference, the only one ever held in Quito, Ecuador. This event saw the participation of over 400 tax law professionals from Europe and Latin America.

As an external advisor to the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Industries and Productivity, she had the opportunity to advise these State portfolios on investment issues, tax incentives; as well as participating in the preparation and socialization of several regulatory reform projects.

Tax and Corporate Experience

• Elvira led a large-scale project for a business group with a presence in the agricultural and hydroelectric industries. Her work included the corporate and tax structuring of the group, with the aim of optimizing its tax burden. One of the main challenges of the project was navigating the complex regulatory framework of one of the markets involved, considered a strategic and highly regulated sector. Thanks to her experience and meticulous planning, Elvira achieved favorable results for the client, ensuring regulatory compliance and maximizing the tax benefits of the business group. This success story reflects her ability to face and overcome complex legal challenges, positioning herself as a reference professional in her field.
  
  
• Specialized in the technical defense and accompaniment of companies during tax audits, she has worked with companies from various sectors, such as prepaid medicine, agriculture, petroleum services, real estate and construction, demonstrating her ability to face complex challenges and protect the interests of her clients. Her strategic approach and deep knowledge of tax regulations allow her to excel in representing several companies before audits by the Internal Revenue Service (SRI). Throughout each process, Elvira managed to minimize the scope of the Tax Administration’s observations, generating significant savings for her clients. Public Sector Experience:

• Generation of regulatory proposals aimed at implementing the tax incentives created by the Organic Code of Production, Commerce, and Investments [Código Orgánico de la Producción, Comercio e Inversiones], as part of the legal advisory team of the Ministry of Industries and Productivity.
  
  
• Preparation of the Draft Regulation for the application of the Ecuadorian Quality System Law, as an external consultant for the Ministry of Industries and Productivity.
