Darío Carrera

Meet Darío:

Darío has extensive experience in intellectual property, both in the public and private sectors. He worked for seven years at the National Service of Intellectual Rights (SENADI), and therefore has a clear knowledge of all the proceedings that take place in this institution.

In that organization, he held the position of coordinating specialist in intellectual property of Órgano Colegiado de Derechos Intelectuales, in charge of preparing and presenting proposals for second-instance resolutions in all areas of intellectual property.

In the private sector, his experience has focused on the area of intellectual property, providing advice and support to various clients and correspondents, to obtain and register trademarks, patents, copyrights and plant varieties.

Darío also provides advice in the defense of intellectual property rights and litigation matters.

Darío is a responsible professional with the tasks and instructions entrusted to him, both by members of the organization itself and by clients and correspondents. He is organized and agile in the fulfillment of his tasks, maintains effective communication with clients and team members, standing out for his ability to work with diverse groups, providing appropriate solutions, based on his analytical and research skills, applied in each case he works with.

Experience

• Darío is in charge of a large portfolio of national and international clients for whom he designs strategies and proposals to protect their intellectual assets. Special attention to detail for each of their requirements is one of his main qualities.
  
  
• Additionally, he has extensive experience in advising and assisting in the registration of plant varieties, a field in which he has provided services to international correspondents.
  
  
• He also has experience in the area of data protection, having participated in due diligence processes and the preparation of deliverable documents.

• Lawyer of the Courts and Tribunals of the Republic. Universidad Central del Ecuador (UCE), Ecuador.
  
  
• Master’s degree in intellectual property and New Technologies Law, Universidad Internacional de La Rioja, Spain.
